Hydromassage has a positive effect on people suffering from poor circulation and arthritis. Its effect on the rehabilitation of a person after injuries cannot be overestimated. What You Need to Know About Hydromassage?

What is Hydro Massage?

In order for the massage to produce the desired effect, it is not enough just water hitting a single point. For a proper massage it is important to create a wave-like movement of jets – holes from which jets of water are supplied. So, for example, in many cabins massage is made by a wave-like movement of jets or alternating on / off different jets. In addition, different cabins have a different number of massage modes. In principle, the number of jets and without a consultant to determine the number of possible modes. At least two rows of jets are required for back and side massages. In some cabins, the systems also provide a neck and shoulder massage. Ideally, the massage jets can be rotated. In this case, they can be rotated, directing the jet in the desired direction.

In addition, some designs allow you to adjust even the form of the jet – to make a very thin or, conversely, to increase the power of water supply. Today, manufacturers, in pursuit of the buyer, invent new modes. For example, there is a mode of massage, called waterfall. From the hole under the cabin ceiling, 180 liters of water pour out onto you per minute. In some multi-shower cabins there is a mode of contrast shower, when the warm water is periodically replaced by cold water for 5-10 seconds. There is also a mode of water dust – the water is broken into such small sprays that they look more like a water cloud than a shower jet. This water dust has an amazingly relaxing effect on people.

What not to do?

  • Eat a lot and drink alcohol before a hydromassage session.
  • Increase the length of the session. A long intensive hydromassage is not good for you.
  • Immerse yourself in water with your head: the jets of water can damage your eyes and ears.
  • Sit in cold water. During the hydromassage it is necessary to keep the water temperature constant: if you do not have a water heater with a thermostat, you should periodically add hot water.
  • Engage in heavy physical work immediately after the whirlpool session. It is better to take a warm shower and lie down.

Hydromassage procedure

  • The temperature of water in the bath. It should be kept at 35-38 °C. The hotter the water, the shorter the session – maximum 20 minutes.
  • Angle of jets. Water from the nozzle should not strike the body at an angle of 90 °C, and hit it tangentially.
  • Water pressure. All depends on what part of the body you are massaging. So, the pressure of jets directed on the back should be from 2 to 5 atmospheres, and directed on the hips – no more than 4 atmospheres.
